My formal teaching career began at Normal Park Museum Magnet School where I worked with students as an inclusion assistant. I taught small reading groups to students in first through fifth grades. I soon covered a maternity leave in first grade and then spent four years as a kindergarten teacher. It was at Normal Park that I discovered the importance of promoting inquiry, life-long learning and project based learning among students. At Ooltewah Elementary, I taught both first and fifth grades before serving in the role of assistant principal for three years.
My husband, H. Del Cothran, Jr., and I have three children. We enjoy camping, golfing, swimming, reading and nature walks. We are looking forward to a great school year at Woodmore where we support, create and enrich in all that we do.
